ALF’s Wardrobe (Season 3)

In season 3 of ALF, there were a total of 44 outfits and four episodes without outfits. This season there were six separate outfits repeated.

Season 3 – Episode 1 “Stop in the Name of Love”

ALF has four looks in this episode. First a blue Hawaiian shirt, a red t-shirt, and then he borrows Kate’s robe. The episode ends with ALF and Brian in matching blue and red collar jackets.

ALF’s Wardrobe (Season 2)

With the success of Season 1, Jason Cort doubled the amount of looks for Season 2. In Season 2, there are a total 46 looks and we start to see ALF’s outfits repeating. That will continue on more throughout the series.

In season 2, there were 4 outfits that were repeated.

Season 2 – Episode 1 “Working My Way Back to You”

ALF has to go a week without destroying anything in the Tanner household and becomes their butler. His attire is a white button down and a bowtie

ALF’s Wardrobe (Season 1)

Being part of show since the pilot, ALF’s costume designs were done by Jason Cort. Jason’s costume designer credits include: The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth: Big Mouth Gulch, Days of Our Lives, The Wickedest Witch, and The Nature of the Beast. He kept ALF’s wardrobe vibrate with leisure ware in variety of colors of shirts, fun costumes and proper suits. In season 1, ALF wore 24 outfits. That’s 14 out of the 26 episodes, with the most being in episode 8.

This is part one of four. Each post will showcase all of ALF’s outfits throughout the series. As we dive into each season, I will make a note of the repeats and what episode they originally appeared in.

ALF’s Cameos on TV

Over the past 35 years, ALF has really hasn’t gone away. He has remained an icon through the decades since the show ended in 1990. He has either appeared as himself (voiced by Paul Fusco) in other tv shows, commercials and a movie. Along with him making cameos, he’s been countlessly mentioned by name, illustrations or appearing as TV clips in the background of shows.

I have created a page that categories by year of ALF’s cameos. From being a middle square on The New Hollywood Squares in 1987 to being part of a couch gag on The Simpsons in 2023. It’s available on the index bar or here

ALF Jigsaw Puzzles

“I learned one thing about eating jigsaw puzzles… an hour later you’re hungry again.” – ALF (Season 1, Episode 2)

There were a good amount of puzzles released featuring ALF in arranged photo shoots depicting him around the Tanner household. These photoshoots were never scenes featured in the show.

The company that produced these puzzles was MB (Milton Bradley) Puzzle. They released three types: 25, 35 and 100 pieces.

In this post, I will share the party supplies you could find back then. There were three color schemes to pick from; yellow, purple and red. How About a Hug for the Old Alfer?

Valentine’s Day is coming up. Are you going to be sending any hams to someone you admire? Not this year? Well, let’s dive into some other options.

Back in late 80s, there were Valentine’s Day cards, stickers and party decor featuring the lovable alien. In 1987, Topps featured a card with the catchphrase; “How about a hug for the old Alfer”, with ALF dressed as cupid. The exact catchphrase wasn’t used during the run of the series, but spoken by the ALF 1986 Wisecracking plush by Coleco.
